(09/03/25) — wXw's Femmes Fatales, Savannah Summers returns, belt collectors, Bea signs & more

Independent Women Business: Brittnie vs Gypsy, wXw’s 2025 Femmes Fatales, Savannah Summers returns, belt collectors, Double title match at Maple Leaf & more wXw Germany’s annual Femmes Fatales tournament will be held over four shows. The first two quarterfinal matches are scheduled to begin on September 26th, as part of the promotion’s Pro Wrestling Grand Prix weekend in Oberhausen, Germany. The remaining quarterfinal matches will take place on the same day during the second show, followed by the semifinals on the third show, scheduled for September 27th. The weekend will conclude with the tournament’s finals and the crowning of the winner on September 28th. wXw Germany has also announced the participants and the first set of quarterfinal matchups for the 2025 Femmes Fatales tournament.

Anita Vaughan, last year’s winner, will be competing in the tournament for the second time, having previously won the finals against Debbie Keitel. Vaughan made her debut for the promotion at Femmes Fatales in 2023 in a non-tournament match. Vaughan will also be in tag team action that weekend, as she and Safire Reed, another participant in this year’s tournament, will be taking on Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini at “Extreme Wrestling Party 18” on September 26th. That same show will feature Emersyn Jayne taking on Matthew Justice in a Four Corners of Pain match. Jayne previously competed in the Femmes Fatales tournament in 2019 under the name "Sammii Jayne," where she was eliminated in the quarterfinals by that year’s finalist, Leyla Hirsch. Hirsch ultimately lost to LuFisto in the finals, with LuFisto going on to unsuccessfully challenge Amale for the wXw Women’s Title that October.

Hirsch makes her return to the promotion for the quarterfinals on September 26th, where she will compete against Baby Allison. Like Jayne,
Baby Allison also participated in the 2019 tournament but was eliminated early by Lana Austin. B3CCA takes Jane Nero’s place in the tournament after it was announced that Nero had suffered a knee injury during her debut for RevPro. The referee decided to end the match against Aluna after the current GWF Women’s Champion’s knee had given out. Nero is reportedly undergoing further evaluation of the injury and has been removed from upcoming wXw events as a result. B3CCA first appeared in the promotion back in July 2022, debuting against Orsi, and finished out the month with an unsuccessful shot at the wXw Women’s Championship, which Baby Allison held. She made her return in March 2023, and her rivalry with Ava Everett had resurfaced in the Northeast region of the United States, culminating in Everett fending off B3CCA twice for the wXw Women’s Title. B3CCA’s opponent will be Orsi, who will also be making her return to the promotion after last competing back in 2022.

Stephanie Maze completes the group of eight participants and heads into the tournament with significant momentum. She was a finalist in the 2025 Road to 16 Carat Gold tournament held in February, where her feud with Bobby Gunns reached a climax in a Hair vs. Hair match, which she won, later that month. Additionally, Maze faced Jane Nero in a No Ropes, No Disqualification match in July. wXw Germany has announced the quarterfinal matchups for night two Emersyn Jayne and Anita Vaughan will be squaring off in a rematch after previously wrestling at RevPro’s show back in June, and first-time Femmes Fatales entrants, Safire Reed and Stephanie Maze, will clash. The promotion has announced the inclusion of Madison Marley, a recent tour participant in Japan, along with Dani Luna and Miyu Yamashita from Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, for their upcoming anniversary tour. This tour is scheduled to kick off on Friday, November 21st, in Hamburg, Germany, and will continue to Gruespan the following day. Yamashita is set to begin her European tour in the coming weeks, and it has also been announced that she will join Amale Winchester and Mila Smidt as competitors for WPE’s second collaboration with Queens Pro Wrestling on November 28th in France.

The idea of women bleeding in wrestling is a new concept in mainstream media, while independent promotions have seen women push their limits to the brink of unconsciousness. Brittnie Brooks has built her reputation as one of the "nicest" wrestlers in the business, but her recent actions have shattered that image. This past Sunday, during a match, she launched a vicious attack on Gypsy Mac. The competitors, including Brooks, had teamed up with Daena Lynn to take on Trish Adora, Black Swan, and Leila Grey at Future Stars of Wrestling’s event in Las Vegas. During the match, Mac accidentally struck Brooks in the face with an elbow meant for Adora, which led to Brooks' aggressive retaliation. With the tension still lingering days after the incident, a matchup was announced. The promotion revealed that Mac’s Women’s Championship would be contested against Brooks in a brutal First Blood match, marking the first of its kind for the promotion.

The stipulated matchup took place at Sunday’s show in Las Vegas, booked as part of the promotion’s offshoot, Future Stars of Women’s Wrestling, featuring a full lineup hosted by Melissa Santos. Mac’s reign as the FSW Women’s Champion ended after 182 days, as Brooks busted the titleholder open for the win. This matchup marked the first time the promotion hosted a First Blood match for its women’s roster. However, it wouldn't be the first occasion that Mac had shed blood while facing Brooks. During her title defense at the promotion’s sixteenth-anniversary event back in June, Mac required thirteen stitches in her right eyebrow after her encounter with Brooks.

Gypsy Mac won the championship in a Steel Cage matchup against the then-titleholder, Alice Blair, back in March. She successfully retained the belt three times against Katie Forbes, Daena Lynn, and Brooks. Although she lost the title, Mac remains a champion and currently holds two titles, including the East Los Lucha Women’s Title. Brittnie Brooks is now a double champion after beating Mac — Brooks is the current Relentless Pacific Northwest Champion. Mac has stated in footage from backstage that her feud with Brooks is not over.

Savannah Summers, Eugenie, and six other women will be competing at the upcoming Adelaide Championship Wrestling show, “Can You Feel the Heat,” on September 13th, as part of a tournament to crown the first-ever South Australian Women’s Champion. The promotion announced at their latest event that the women’s division would receive an official title to contest for, and shortly thereafter, an eight-woman bracket was revealed. The tournament features the promotion’s regulars, such as Miki Fortune and Summers, who were the quickest to respond to the groundbreaking news by staking their claims towards the championship the night of the announcement. Summers, an eighteen-year veteran and prominent competitor in the Southern Australia scene, made her return to the promotion after last competing in January 2023. Summers has scaled back on her bookings in recent years, but that doesn’t detract from the groundwork she laid to create a better foundation for women emerging within the scene.

Image: Adelaide Championship Wrestling ©

Summers began her career in 2005, initially working as a valet while training with Riot City Wrestling in Adelaide. She was the first woman to be trained under the promotion, and in 2012, she was crowned the inaugural Women’s Champion. Her in-ring debut took place in January 2007, and from that point, she established herself as a cornerstone of the women's division. Eventually, she branched out to work with other promotions, including Melbourne City Wrestling, before heading to the United States to compete for SHIMMER and Absolute Intense Wrestling. Joining Summers and the aforementioned
Miki Fortune are Queensland’s Eugenie, Adelaide’s own Axe Massacre, Izzy Shaw, Amber, Leah Lovegrove, and Ari Nicole of Victoria. Fortune, previously known as “Miss Fortune,” is currently on an undefeated streak in singles competition, having secured wins over Axe Massacre, Lovegrove, and Lil Marz. She is a former three-time RCW Women’s Champion, having won the title from Savannah Summers in 2016, abruptly ending Summers' third reign just three days before she was set to celebrate a full year as champion.

Fortune lost the title to former champion Demi Bennett in April 2017 but later ended another lengthy reign by defeating Indi Hartwell in May 2019. Hartwell had held the title for 343 days, and the victory marked Fortune's second reign as the RCW Women’s Champion, which became a historical milestone as she went on to hold the championship for 505 days, the longest reign in the title's history. Unfortunately, Miki Fortune was forced to vacate the championship in October 2020 due to a significant injury that required surgical intervention. During Fortune’s absence, Riot City Wrestling booked a hard-fought contest between Izzy Shaw and Savannah Summers, with Shaw emerging victorious, claiming the vacant championship. However, her reign as champion was brief, as a few months later, in February 2021, Summers made a return to the title picture, successfully defeating Shaw to reclaim the belt for the fourth time. Summers didn’t just take the belt; she made history by surpassing Miki Fortune's remarkable reign, ultimately holding the championship for an impressive 728 days and successfully defending it eight times, further solidifying her legacy within Riot City Wrestling and in the wrestling scene in Southern Australia.

Fast forwarding — the first round matches for the South Australian Women’s Title have been set, with Savannah Summers competing against Eugenie for the first time.
Eugenie currently holds two titles in northeastern and southern Australia, competing in women's divisions in both Victoria and her home state of Queensland. She is in her second reign as the IPW Women's Champion and is one-half of the OPW Women's Tag Team Champions alongside Billie Mac.

Image: Adelaide Championship Wrestling ©
Axe Massacre will also be entering the tournament as a champion. She is a double titleholder, reigning as the UPW Women’s Champion, and has recently completed her first successful title defense as the ASWA Women's Champion after defeating Jasmin Brettle in a Hardcore match for the title in June. Massacre will take on Leah Lovegrove in another first-time encounter, scheduled for the show. The rest of the first round will see Miki Fortune taking on Amber, the wrestler she defeated to win the RCW Women’s Title in 2023. Additionally, Izzy Shaw will compete against Ari Nicole. The semifinals and the tournament final will take place on the same show, with the winner going to establish a new legacy in Adelaide Championship Wrestling.

This Friday’s Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling show in Ohsweken, Ontario, will feature a high-stakes match in a winner-takes-all scenario. Gisele Shaw’s ongoing rivalry with Priscilla Kelly will culminate as Shaw puts her Canadian Women’s Title on the line against Kelly, who will stake her newly won Destiny Women’s Championship. Shaw’s pursuit of becoming a double champion didn’t go as planned last week, as Kelly walked out of Mississauga with the title belt. After losing the match, Shaw expressed her frustration over the match’s outcome during a backstage interview, at which point the new titleholder attacked her and issued a challenge for both championships.

In case you haven’t been following along, Gisele Shaw has been delivering consistent performances in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, and you can catch their content on YouTube. Shaw started strong in the tournament for the Canadian Women’s Title, which began in March, first defeating Laynie Luck. She then faced Serena Deeb in the semifinals, where they engaged in a lengthy and competitive encounter, which can be seen here. This set the stage for her to compete against Kylie Rae in the finals in Toronto, as Rae had defeated WWE: ID prospect, Zoe Sager, and Taylor Rising in her tournament matches. Since becoming the inaugural champion in May, Gisele has retained the belt against Rae in her first title shot, Shotzi Blackheart, and Beaa Moss.

Initially, the Destiny Women’s Title match was scheduled to be between Gisele Shaw and Elayna Black. However, with Black's decision to temporarily step away from the sport, the matchup was changed. Priscilla Kelly was brought in as the replacement competitor to fulfill Black's previously agreed-upon commitments. Kelly has taken on the rest of Black’s bookings in recent weeks, especially those that had already advertised Black’s appearance before her announcement. The matchup presents another pivotal moment in helping to revitalize the women’s Canadian scene, which has sustained more losses than moments of success over the last couple of years.

With the Quebec-based Femmes Fatales ceasing operations and other promotions regressing to a non-existent women’s division or implementing a single woman as the sole representation, the scene is reverting to its old ways. The independent scene in Canada has always been smaller compared to that of the United States. However, with new promotions emerging alongside established ones, it has provided more opportunities for talent within their home country. Before social media engagement became essential for attracting promoters, workers primarily depended on their skills and occasional word of mouth to secure bookings. This approach proved successful for some competitors, many of whom ventured across borders in search of greener pastures in the United States, found their niche in Mexico by adopting the lucha libre style, or even launched new careers in Japan.

In the early 2000s, women in Ontario faced significant challenges when the local athletic commission began enforcing existing laws that had previously gone unchecked. This enforcement led to the prohibition of women competing in the province, raising concerns about their participation, especially in intergender matches. LuFisto became a victim of this regulation — she was banned from competing in Ontario after the athletic commission had learned about her upcoming matchup against Bloody Bill Skullion and threatened to withdraw their licensing from the promotion’s show. She took legal action and lodged a complaint against the discriminatory act with the Ontario Human Rights Commission. In 2006, the Ontario Athletic Commission reversed the ruling, and the discriminatory laws were removed from the books.

Priscilla Kelly captured her third championship over the weekend by defeating Fallyn Grey, SOS, and Xia Brookside to win the vacant AWF Women’s Title in Phoenix on Saturday. Kelly has already lined up her first opponent for the promotion’s next show on September 27th, where she will make her first title defense against Shotzi Blackheart. Recently, Kelly also won the ACW Fire Women’s Title in a three-way match against the then-champion, Riley Crowe, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. However, she isn’t the only woman holding multiple championships; there are also title collectors in the indie scene across the United States and Europe.

Sammi Chaos from the Northeast has four championships to her name, including her second reign as the PPW Women’s Champion. Currently, she holds the Fall Out Shelter Title, the women’s belt from Battleground Championship Wrestling, the Respect Women’s Title, and the BattleClub Pro Icons Championship. Notorious Mimi also has four championships and recently added the 2025 Larry Sharpe Memorial Cup to her collection. She is the reigning women’s champion in Brii Combination Wrestling and holds both the Remarkable Women’s Championship and the Diamond Championship in Belle2Bell. Additionally, Mimi made history by becoming the first woman to win the Monster Factory Heavyweight Championship, defeating titleholder Chris Desmond and two other men in the four-way finals of the Larry Sharpe Memorial Cup last month.

Meanwhile, Indi Hartwell is the reigning women’s champion in Renegades of Wrestling in Australia. She has successfully defended her titles in New York-based promotions, House of Glory and Awesome Championship Wrestling, in back-to-back matches. Natalia Markova is the new NWA World Women’s Champion. She holds four additional championships: the Texas Style Wrestling Women’s, Fight The World Women’s, Championship Entertainment Productions’ Women’s, and the Jericho Cruise Women’s Oceanic championships. Ontario's Beaa Moss is holding four championship titles simultaneously. She is the Great Canadian Wrestling WILD Champion, having won this title for the third time last January. Additionally, she is one-half of the Tag Team Champions. Beaa also holds the Women's Championship from New School Wrestling and the Women's Title from Magnificent Championship Wrestling. In Quebec, Kristara, who trained under Mike Bailey and Shayne Hawke, holds two men's titles: the North Shore Pro Wrestling Junior Heavyweight Championship and the IWS World Heavyweight Championship. Moreover, she is the current holder of the women's championship from the International Wrestling Syndicate and the Acclaim Pro Wrestling Women's Championship.

Maggie Lee is the flagship champion of four-women’s divisions and is one-half of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions as a member of the Elegance Brand. She holds the respective titles in AAW, DREAMWAVE, Midwest All-Star Wrestling, and is the current Glamour Champion in Ragin Pro Wrestling. Abandon recently scored two championship wins, becoming the Metroplex Women’s titleholder and also the Rising Stars Women’s Champion. Standing at 4’11” and hailing from New York, Nat Castle captured the Create-A-Pro Women’s Title after defeating Gabby Forza in a Bloodline Rules Dog Collar match in July. Castle is also the Stardom Champion in Lucky Pro Wrestling and recently won her third title.

Airica Demia is two months into her reign as the SPARK Joshi Pacific Champion and recently retained her title successfully against Lindsay Snow at SHINE 83. In addition to the SPARK Joshi Pacific Championship, Demia also holds several other titles: the Hooligan Championship Wrestling World Women’s Title, the Viral Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship, and she is the Intergender Bonanza Super Champion. Kylie Alexa is approaching a significant milestone in her wrestling career, with her championship reign of the New Level Pro Women’s Title nearing 1,000 days, which was won in February 2023. Kylie also holds the Honor Among Wrestling Reinas Title, the NWA Joe Cazana Promotions Women’s Championship, and the New York Wrestling Connection Starlet Title.

Image: Millie McKenzie ©
Over in Europe, Millie McKenzie currently holds a total of seven championships, including the CXW Women’s Championship, the Women’s Championship, and the Lineal Women’s Championship in Coventry Pro Wrestling, as well as the Full Force Wrestling Women’s Championship and the RISE Underground World Women’s Undisputed Title. Lana Austin has officially completed a year-long reign as the Insane Championship Wrestling Women’s Champion. Alongside this title, she holds the TNT Undisputed Women’s Championship and the PWA Queen of Diamonds Championship. Furthermore, she is the current Women of KULT titleholder and became one-half of the EVE Tag Team Champions alongside Hollie Barrow at the beginning of August. Erika Reid is now leading the women's division in Melbourne City Wrestling after defeating Eugenie for the title on Saturday in Thornbury, Victoria. With her recent victory, she has two other titles in Victoria: she is the inaugural champion in Oceania Pro Wrestling, having held the title for over 792 days, and is the Mayhem Pro Internet Champion. Lizzy Evo, Harleen Lopez, Zamaya, Journey Burke, and tag team partner, Emily Jaye, Aminah Belmont, Nixi XS, Tiffany Nieves. Haley J, Jazmin Allure, Natalie Sykes, and so many more women are toting around more than one championship these days, further increasing their visibility in more promotions.

Joshy, Joshi, Joshe News: SAKI defends the PURE-J flagship title, Bea’s gunning for the big one against Kamitani

SAKI's latest title defense was the main event of Sunday's gathering at Itabashi Green Hall, as former three-time Openweight Champion Leon aimed to secure her fourth reign with the belt. Last month, SAKI made her first title defense against the then-number-one contender, AKARI, who had earned her shot by defeating Rydeen Hagane in June. SAKI retained the title at the promotion’s show at Shin-Kiba 1st RING on July 20th, successfully winning after executing a running brainbuster on her Chilean opponent. Leon first captured the championship in March 2019 by defeating her former partner and the company's founder, Command Bolshoi, just one month after ending Hanako Nakamori’s nearly year-long reign with the title. Leon subsequently lost the belt to Nakamori in April, marking the start of a competitive rivalry for the championship between the two former cornerstones of JWP.

Leon reclaimed the title at the expense of Nakamori’s historic 462-day reign the following July. She managed to hold onto the belt until that March, when Kaori Yoneyama had reestablished herself in the singles title picture and claimed the belt. Leon regained the championship from Rydeen Hagane just four months later, surpassing her previous championship reign by over a hundred days and coming close to celebrating a full year as Openweight Champion. However, the challenge of Nakamori was soon looming on the horizon.

Image: PURE-J ©
Leon’s third reign came to an end in July 2022 after 361 days, with Nakamori taking her fourth stint at the top of the promotion. However, her reign was short-lived as she lost to Yuu a few weeks later. Leon last challenged for the championship in October, facing the then-champion, Risa Sera, who successfully defended her title for the fourth time. It's worth noting that Leon has a sentimental connection to the Itabashi Green Hall, as she has both won and lost the belt there, in addition to solely challenging for it. SAKI earned her second victory and retained the championship belt. Her next title defense is scheduled for PURE-J's event in Osaka on September 14th, where she will face Mono Tani, who challenged the champion post-match.

Also on Sunday’s show, the current Daily Sports Women’s Tag Team Champions, Kaho Kobayashi and Nakamori, were in non-title action with Arisa Shinose against Moeka Haruhi and the team of Makoto and Dark Silueta. Nakamori made her first appearance since undergoing knee surgery at the promotion’s show on July 20th. She announced her return to competition after being sidelined since April, noting that she and her new partner, Kaho Kobayashi, would challenge Moeka Haruhi and Yuna Manase for the titles at Korakuen Hall. Nakamori and Kobayashi won the championship in their first matchup on August 11th. This marks the sixth time Nakamori has held the title, while it is Kobayashi’s first reign and her sixth tag title overall.

Bea Priestley
has officially become a permanent member of the STARDOM roster, following an announcement from President Taro Okada that an agreement has been reached. Priestley returned to the promotion as a contestant in the 5*STARGP, where she competed closely with Saya Kamitani for points in the Red Stars A Block. On August 17th, Priestley achieved an incredible upset by defeating Kamitani in their final matchup before the tournament's knockout stage. The outcome marked the first time that Kamitani had been defeated in nearly a full year in the promotion and was also her first loss in the round-robin format. Following this defeat, Priestley issued a challenge to Kamitani for the World of STARDOM Title, and their match is scheduled for September 6th. Since 2020, Priestley has won three singles matches against Kamitani, and one of their encounters ended in a time-limit draw.

Image: World Wrestling Ring STARDOM ©

Kamitani was sitting atop two promotions as their top singles champion. However, just a week before facing the English competitor, she lost the Regina di WAVE Title to Cohaku, the recipient of the 2025 Catch de WAVE award. Bea's signing brings another foreign player to the promotion, joining recent recruit Bozilla and Xena, who is currently sidelined due to injury. Priestley last challenged for the title in April 2021 when she faced then-champion Utami Hayashishita. She previously held the Goddesses of STARDOM titles with Konami as part of the now-defunct Oedo Tai faction, capturing them from Kamitani and Hayashishita during their time in Queen’s Quest
Bea challenges Kamitani head-on for the championship at this Saturday’s show at the Yokohama Budokan, the titleholder’s fifth defense since beating Tam Nakano in the closing matchup of “Stardom Dream Queendom.” Also scheduled for the show, Starlight Kid will be making her latest defense as Wonder of STARDOM Champion against Tomoka Inaba. As previously announced, Natsuko Tora will face Mayumi Ozaki in an upcoming match. Tora, along with the rest of H.A.T.E., interrupted the Openweight Title main event during OZ Academy’s annual tribute show to the late Plum Mariko, attacking the promotion’s founder. Following this incident, the matchup was officially confirmed for STARDOM’s upcoming event.

Dark Silueta arrived in the country at the beginning of the month, with her first stop being ZERO1’s event at Shin-Kiba 1st RING. She has since worked for Gokigen Pro, Pro Wrestling WAVE, and DIANA. Her appearance at the promotion’s show on Saturday at the Ota City General Gymnasium was her first time working for STARDOM. The current CMLL-Japan Women’s Champion will be putting her title on the line at the promotion’s upcoming show at Korakuen Hall on September 10th, facing the oncoming challenge of Koguma. Back in July, Silueta defeated Lluvia for the belt to become champion for a second time. The event will also showcase three additional title matches, featuring the Artist of STARDOM, High-Speed, and Future of STARDOM Titles being defended. AZM and crew will be taking on H.A.T.E.’s Rina, Fukigen Death, and Konami in their third title defense since becoming champions last May. Yuna Mizumori will challenge for the coveted High-Speed Title, currently held by Mei Seira, whose second reign will exceed 400 days by the time of their matchup. Hina’s Future of STARDOM Title will be defended for the sixth time since unseating Miyu Amasaki at the end of February. The latest competitor to be given a shot at the championship is Yuria Hime.
