It appeared that Scott had pulled a ruse over on Inspire Pro Wrestling, as her big, fancy vocabulary sauteed with legal terms had intimidated the promotion into settling and was awarded the number one contendership to Barbi Hayden's NWA World Women's Championship as part of their "apology" at their January show, "Ecstasy of Gold II." That wouldn't be the last time that Inspire Pro Wrestling had their hands tied when it came to Scott's legal maneuvering – Veda Scott found a loophole back into the title tournament by inserting herself as the unofficial, official replacement for Delilah Doom in the triple threat match at "In Their Blood 2." Doom was scheduled to take on Athena and Jessica James in the finals of the tournament, instead, her shoulder was dislocated at the bare hands of Angelus Layne forcing her to be removed from the championship match. Scott quickly gathered her lawyer and headed down to the squared circle to ensure that Inspire Pro Wrestling honored its commitment to a three-way dance for the belt. Doom's replacement scored the championship victory and defeated both James and Athena to become the first-ever XX Division Champion, she capitalized on the opportunity and tossed Athena to the outside of the ring after hitting the O-Face and James and covered her for the winning pinfall.
After picking up her first title defense against Leva Bates in a No Disqualification, No Countout match at "Clash At The Bash II," Veda Scott showed up with her lawyer and her calculated, underhanded tactics already in mind at "Fade To Black" and reconfigured the championship match. Instead of defending the belt against a more than prepared Jessica James, Scott argued that her contract gave her the full authorization to pick and choose her opponent and the referee for the match. She made James the referee, as she had already defeated her, and introduced an unknown competitor in the "Lady Void," a female dressed in all black with no clues to her true identity was defeated by Scott in a relatively short match. James slapped on a submission on the no-face competitor and forced her to tap out – it was clear that Jessica James' frustration with Veda Scott had reached new levels.
It was announced that Scott had issued an open challenge for "Taggcade" and had agreed to defend the XX Division Championship against anyone, except Jessica James. Veda Scott again marched in the Marchesa Theatre with her lawyer and the mysterious Lady Void at her side on Sunday in Austin, Texas, and waited for the first competitor to come walking through the curtain. Delilah Doom stepped up to the plate and answered Scott's challenge and the odds proved to be too difficult to overcome for Doom, as the interference of Scott's lawyer helped Veda successfully retain the championship for a third time. Veda Scott allowed her cockiness to blind her perspective – instead of grabbing her championship and heading backstage, Scott proclaimed that the open challenge was still in place, but this time she would be picking her opponent. Scott had assumed it was going to be an easy night by choosing Lady Void as her opponent, but she soon realized that Void was not willing to go along with her plans. She found herself caught in a submission by Void, who later revealed herself to be Jessica James, as she submitted Scott and became the new XX Division Champion. Veda Scott threw a fit after the match and insisted that Inspire Pro Wrestling wouldn't see her again.

Ayako Hamada and Yuu Yamagata have once again won the year-annual Dual Shock Wave tournament and achieved their third run with the WAVE Tag Team Championship by doing so. Hamada and Yamagata defeated Kayoko Haruyama and Tsubasa Kuragaki in the finals of this year's tournament on Friday at Korakuen Hall. Hamada's patented finisher, the AP Cross sealed the deal and picked up their win of the vacant titles. Pro Wrestling WAVE announced that the championships would be on the line for this year's single-elimination tournament, as the belts had been relinquished following the retirement of then-co-titleholder, Mio Shirai. Shirai's partner, Misaki Ohata was entered into the tournament and despite having her second reign ended, she chose Ryo Mizunami as her teammate and sought to capture the championships for a third time.
The promotion forewent last year's eleven-team tournament and worked with a smaller roster this time. Hikaru Shida and Melanie Cruise, Hamada and Yamagata ("Las Aventureras"), Kaho Kobayashi and Rina Yamashita, Sakura Hirota and Mika Iida ("Sakuragohan"), Kuragaki and Haruyama ("Haru*kura"), Ohata and Mizunami ("Avid Rival") and ASUKA and Yumi Ohka were announced as the participating teams that would have a chance to win the 2015 Dual Shock WAVE trophy and the twin straps. The first round of the tournament got underway at Shinkiba 1st RING on October 2nd. Las Aventureras defeated Cruise and Shida, while Kayoko and Tsubasa Kuragaki defeated Rina Yamashita and Kaho Kobayashi following a Lariat from Haruyama to Yamashita and Avid Rival finished out the opening round matches by defeating Yumi Ohka and ASUKA. Las Aventureras' tournament match against Sakura Hirota and Mika Iida on October 18th ended in a twenty-minute time-limit draw and as a result, Hamada defeated Iida in a singles match with the La Ayakita to determine the winner of the semi-final match, as one of the two finalists in the tournament was determined, with the latter decided in the main event of the show, as Harukura defeated Misaki Ohata and Ryo Mizunami in their semi final match up, as Haruyama won with the Keene Hammer on Ohata.
Ayako Hamada and Yuu Yamagata bested the former JWP Tag Team Champions in the main event, as Las Aventureras became the first three-time WAVE Tag Team Champions, the fifteenth in the belt's history and the first and only competitors to win the Dual Shock WAVE twice, winning the tournament back in 2013. The outcome felt unsatisfactory and too predictable – the bigger issue is that Pro Wrestling WAVE's booking decisions this year have completely missed the mark and haven't garnered much interest. For starters, Ayako Hamada unseated Hikaru Shida of the Regina di WAVE Championship back in February. Shida was not granted a rematch for the title and Hamada was thrust into a championship match against Mio Shirai for her first title defense. The current tag team champions at the time, Yamagata and Hamada dropped the belts to Shirai and Misaki Ohata at Korakuen Hall on March 15th; Shirai unsuccessfully challenged Hamada for the title in the main event following her and Ohata's succession to the championships.
Hamada retained and another challenger in the form of Meiko Satomura stepped up to the plate for the next month's big show, again with Hamada winning. It would be four months before the Regina di WAVE Championship was defended again, this time Yumi Ohka, the winner of the 2015 Catch the WAVE tournament would be getting a shot at reclaiming the title she inaugurated. Kana and Mika Iida appeared to be clear odds-on favorites to win this year's singles tournament, instead, the veteran Ohka won that booking decision – the majority of Hamada's title defense has come against long-tenured competitors like Chikayo Nagashima, Ohka or Satomura and there's nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is that this opportunity could have been handed to Kana, as a clash between her and Hamada wasn't something that happened often and would have been a good dynamic, with Kana's villainous characteristics antagonizing and threatening Hamada's reign as champion. Then again, this would have been a good opportunity to elevate Mika Iida to the title picture and solidify the up-and-comer as a singles star and not be relegated to a tag team wrestler.
Yumi Ohka is a great competitor from top to bottom, but handing her the tournament win didn't make "waves" or generate the buzz the promotion was expecting in regard to that upcoming title match, in my opinion. It was underwhelming. Ohka was pushed to the forefront for the belt and I didn't remember her ever being pushed aside, as she's been a consistent player in the promotion since the beginning. Again the veteran is elevated to the position she never lost – it felt like the promotion was going with a more comfortable, safe decision and not wanting to rock the boat. Pro Wrestling WAVE's current roster consists of a bunch of younger talent that are still finding their groove and are not formidable enough to challenge for the belt, but there are exceptions like Ryo Mizunami, Iida, Misaki Ohata and even Yuu Yamagata that could benefit from those opportunities. However, the new number one contender to the Regina di WAVE Championship will be found through a twelve-woman tournament, beginning this Sunday at Shinkiba 1st RING. The first-round matches have been announced; Natsu Sumire will be taking on Hiroe Nagahama, Yamagata will be going up against Ohka, Rina Yamashita will take on Yuki Miyazaki, Ryo Mizunami will take on Misaki Ohata, Fairy Nipponbashi will go up against ASUKA and Mika Iida will be taking on Kaho Kobayashi. The tournament will be running from November 8th through December 6th, as the winner will go on to face Ayako Hamada at Korakuen Hall on December 27th.
