Ringbelles Roundup (8/26/15) – Hatred for Blue Pants & Eva Marie, Summerslam fallout, Girls Nights Out 16, CANUSA matches, SHINE 29 & more

Taking so-called "opportunities" away and receiving merchandise before those "more" deserving can position you at the brunt of the backlash from wrestling fans on the internet. Then again, receiving one more opportunity than another can lead to your entire resume and your capabilities as a wrestler being picked apart in one-hundred-forty characters for no reason. Meanwhile, you're working in front of a sold-out crowd and all of this is going on unannounced to you. On Saturday night, I tweeted that I misunderstood the origin of the backlash and sudden "hate" for Blue Pants or Leva Bates. I had stepped into the house and logged onto my social media accounts and was appalled by the complaints up and down my timeline.

The whole time I thought the complaints had to be coming from bad booking on the show, instead I realized that it was all because Blue Pants was revealed as the mystery woman to keep Alexa Bliss at bay while the Vaudevillians went after the NXT Tag Team Championship. Some fans were happy with Bates making a surprise appearance and others were dissatisfied with it period. After sending out that tweet, where I commended my podcast co-hosts Dave and Jennifer for their positive vibes, a full-on conversation/debate filled up my mentions regarding Blue Pants, and the back-and-forth inquisitive dialogue reminded me of my frustration that I had long been having when it comes to women's wrestling in general.

I've never been the biggest fan of Leva Bates nor have I proclaimed to be, but I do understand that she is not for everyone. What I don't understand is this flack she is getting for appearing on the show, as opposed to recently signed talent debuting or the criticism of her competence in the ring becoming the focal point of the moment and not Blue Pants, an uncontracted talent being featured on a sold-out show during one of WWE's biggest weekends. She didn't deserve that, nobody deserves that. Even if it happened to be someone else and not Blue Pants, the problem is not her. It's repeat behavior that has been displayed with the divas and women that are given an opportunity within that company by fans.

Sasha Banks touched on this a few weeks back after fans continuously chanted nonsensical gibberish during her non-title match against Nikki Bella. The WWE Divas Champion was going up against the then NXT Women's Champion for the very first time and the Minneapolis crowd couldn't refrain from the disrespect for one night and it led to those in attendance being embarrassed and left the women disappointed. She hit the nail on the head in her response to fans on her personal Tumblr account, by saying "they want change yet don't change themselves," as the habitual complainers are not willing to adjust their thinking and adhering to the same respect that they patronize WWE for not showing to women.

On Monday Night RAW, the crowd at the Barclays Center made it known that they were not interested in anything not involving Sasha Banks. Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Paige were guests on this week's edition of Miz TV and were subjected to The Miz's mockery and chants for Banks. The best part of the segment was Nikki Bella saying that wins and losses don't matter and the Divas Championship, which she held up in the faces of Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch is what's important. The segment was pretty awful and I don't understand why WWE continues to subject the divas to these segments that don't produce any good in-ring mic work, instead we were treated to another pull-apart brawl in the ring that did not receive any reaction from the crowd, besides more chants for Banks.

Its understandable that the Brooklyn audience wanted to see Banks make an appearance, especially after putting on a stupendous match against Bayley on Saturday night for the NXT Women's Championship – which more than deserved to be the main event of the Takeover. At Summerslam, Banks, Naomi, and Tamina Snuka were the first team to be eliminated after Brie Bella pinned Snuka following a second rope facebuster. The match failed in comparison to Banks/Bayley the night before – it felt underwhelming at best as the crowd was not into the match despite the six-week build-up. The match did receive an abundance of time, around sixteen minutes. The one-and-done pinfalls derailed my interest in the match-up, as I assumed that since it was contested under elimination rules, each competitor would be pinned individually and not one member of the team.

Charlotte, Paige, and Lynch won the match after Lynch pinned Brie after a pumphandle suplex. However, their rematch against Team Bella the following night was not well-received by the Brooklyn crowd, as production had to insert an extra commercial into the West Coast feed of the show. During the match, the typical behavior or irrelevant chants broke out, as they chanted "boring," "we are awesome" and did the wave. Paige was noticeably aggravated and she has every right to be. The past six weeks of booking have gotten distracted with multiple scenarios of "this" team taking on "that" team in some form or aspect and not finding a definitive challenger or challengers for the Divas Championship. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are the biggest supporters of this Divas Revolution storyline and have been positioned as a must-see attraction on the flagship show.

In the meantime, all nine women involved in the storyline have dealt with frustration when it comes to the fans, as it appeared that everyone's interest had waned already before it could get better. This "revolution" has not helped change fans' perspective of the main roster divas or stifled their disrespect. Sasha Banks has been chosen and deemed "favorite" and will be uplifted onto a pedestal and can't be touched like an AJ Lee and the rest of the division will still be scrutinized for being model-turned-wrestlers or anything that is not in comparison to their chosen one – I will never understand why women's wrestling fans will degrade another woman in effort to uplift another when both are going towards the same goals, whether it be for a championship or getting signed. Irregardless of a person's background, which should not even matter, everyone has a goal set in front of them and its up to them to got for it.

The point I'm trying to make is, WWE is going forward with the Divas Revolution storyline until further notice. If fans do not see or take value in any of these competitors, WWE will drop this storyline like a bad habit and will continue the great women's wrestling on NXT. Leva Bates or Blue Pants might not be your favorite wrestler or you don't understand the hype surrounding her, but she doesn't deserve the backlash, even if her opportunity came before others. If you want the company to keep going forward with changes to the divas division you have to be supportive and not give WWE a reason to look at the women as afterthoughts again.

SHINE Wrestling has put together a promising show for next month by announcing matches like LuFisto – Jessicka Havok and Athena – Vanessa Kraven. Of course the SHINE Championship will be on the line, as Santana Garrett will be taking on Allysin Kay in the main event. The booking on last month's show included a lot of interference and wonky finishes that plagued the undercard and the two title matches. Besides the possibility of those same issues of non-finishes up and down the SHINE 29 card, there are some things to look forward to on this show.

So Cal Val has proposed that the remaining members of The Valkyrie merge with her Valifornia and become an even more dominant stable within the promotion. She proclaimed that both stables been having trouble obtaining success and keeping it. Valifornia and Valkyrie are no longer considered a threat to SHINE, as So Cal Val stated, it make more than perfect sense for her and April Hunter to come together and run a muck on the promotion. She does have a point – Valkyrie hasn't been the strongest in quite some time, with the exits of Rain, Serena Deeb becoming the defacto leader in Rain's retirement, Ivelisse being pushed out of the group due to her feud with Rain, the group has not maintained that momentum they once had and pretty much has became an afterthought. Allysin Kay has been showcased more in singles than her partnership with Taylor Made as "Made In Sin" – they are not even considered contenders to the belts. Valifornia also had the same issues, Nevaeh's injury and subsequent retirement ended her chase for the SHINE Title. Not to mention, Marti Belle, Jayme Jameson, and Andrea have been interchangeable and not a consistent pair going after one set of belts – Valifornia could use another competitor to change it up.

However, Valifornia will be in action at SHINE 29, as Andrea and Jayme Jameson take on the almost imploded or imploded Lucha Sisters. Mia Yim berated Leva Bates for costing her the match against Allysin Kay at SHINE 28. Bates' good intentions to make the referee aware of April Hunter's planned interference resulted in the referee becoming distracted with Bates and not counting Yim's pinfall on Kay. Yim had stopped Hunter from taking one of Leva’s mask during her match against Amber Gallows and possibly felt the same efforts were not reciprocated by her partner. She accused of Bates of being jealous of her success, shoved and flipped off Bates before leaving the ring. It continued on social media, as Bates apologized repeatedly to Yim and Yim refused to see past her anger.

It remains to be seen if the Lucha Sisters have patched things up over the past month or if those hurt feelings are still lingering and will be undoing to the partnership. Tracy Taylor gained a count-out win over Su Yung back at SHINE 28 after Yung's signature mist backfired and she swallowed it by accident. This time around, the match will be under falls count anywhere, no disqualification rules, as Yung and Taylor's rivalry will be tested in a Ybor City Street Fight. Leah Von Dutch will be working her first match back in the promotion since undergoing a surgical procedure that kept out of action for a three months. Dutch will be back on the hunt for the "dinosaurs" that been given her trouble, as she takes on Brandi Wine.

Cherry Bomb will be taking on Taylor Made – the SHINE Tag Team Championship will not be on the line, as Kimber Lee will be busy at King of Trios that night and Bomb will be going it alone in singles competition. It be interesting to see if the fallout from their last title defense at SHINE 28 will be brought into play. Amaiya Jade and Katie Forbes disrupted the title match, resulting in a no contest and attacked Marti Belle and Andrea and drove Lee's face through a steel chair. They were introduced by Daffney as the "Iron Maidens" and proclaimed "retribution," as it appears that Daffney has figured out a way to handle her ongoing troubles with Valifornia and chase after the titles. Also, Amanda Rodriguez takes on Thunderkitty and Jessica James will take on "Crazy" Mary Dobson.
